Pacer News:
Pacer Yachts have now delivered a demo boat to Cape Town
where it will be under the control of Harry Brehm,(0823799040).
It will be sailed out of Royal Cape Yacht Club and False Bay
Yacht Club, in support of Anthony Wentworth and his Pacer
27. A Pacer has also been launched at HMYC (Midmar Dam) and
they will be trial sailing her over the next month or two,
so if you are in he Midlands or Durban and you want to have
a go, contact Dave on 082 455 1071 to arrange it.
Pacer 27 Round Up:
Vaal Dam:
There are now four boats on the Vaal dam with three sailing
out of DAC and one out of Aolians. There is hope of
extending this to 5 boats in the very near future. Keelboat
week was a success, with the Cape based team on Pacer Two
faring the best, finishing in the top three on handicap (Vaal
dam handicap which is very subjective), so well done to
them. I also heard from a guest sailor on
Guys boat who was shouting from the tree-tops about how fast
the boat was… I cant use the language in here, but I think
you get the drift of it.

PE:
We never hear anything from Russel after he did so well in
the inaugural regatta earlier this year. Come on Russel, if
you want the Class to be at your big annual regatta, now is
the time to speak up.
CAPE:
Ant Wentworth had a great time sailing in the recent Spring
Regatta which was held over two consecutive weekends. I have
heard from three different people all sailing other boats,
who have commented on how good the Pacer went and looked –
now all we have to do is translate these comments into sales
to bolster the class. |
Durban:
Durban is planning a very large event next year, over March
- April. The organizers have secured good sponsorship from
the City, and it looks like there will be a number of events
on for classes and keelers. The Pacer Class has been invited
to participate. I will give more details as they become
available.

Pacer
376:
The Big News revolves around the imminent move of the Pacer
Factory to Cape Town where the Pacer 376 is going into
production. The ‘376 is looking absolutely awesome, and will
be a sporty, fast and powerful boat in true Simonis Voogd
tradition. Due to a few unavoidable delays, and because we
missed the Cape Town Boat Show, the boat will now most
likely be launched in December. There has been very good
local and international interest in the boat. Her finishes
look hugely impressive. |
Hunter USA:
The Hunter 27, which is an out and out cruising boat with
unbelievable roominess below, and some exceptional finishes,
will soon be on display at Manten Marina on the Vaal Dam.
You will need to contact Dick or Cathy to arrange viewing
and a trial sail. She is also on special until the end of
November, so get your order in before Christmas.
